Let’s face it, mask is now part of our daily essentials. But what do we do if it’s causing us breakouts?!
'Maskne' can be caused by wearing face mask or covering. It can trigger acne, rosacea and even dermatitis.
Check out our tips below on how to treat or prevent it.
• Make sure your mask is not too tight.
Too tight puts more pressure on the skin and leads to skin barrier breakdown.
Wear a mask that offers a snug but comfortable fit.
• Use a gentle cleanser.
To help remove excess oil, sweat, and bacteria. Once you’re back at home, wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Try our gentle Gel cleanser.
• Light make-up or Skip it.
Skip wearing heavy makeup under your mask. It can make your pores more clogged which lead to more breakouts. If your work requires you to, use products that are labelled 'non-comedogenic'.
• Always moisturise

• Choose the right mask.
Try to use a mask that fits snugly, but not too tight, has two or more layers of fabric and made of natural, soft fabric like cotton. Avoid masks made of synthetic fabrics, like nylon as it can irritate the skin.
• Spot treat your blemishes.
